FA Cup Team News for City v Greenwich Borough - Sunday 26th October 3pm Kick Off

Carl Heeley has brought in Chris Gemmell as goalkeeper cover for Sundays big FA Cup Match following the injury to Jose Viega during last Saturdays 2-0 win over Harrogate Town. Gemmell who was formerly with Rushall Olympic was a free agent, so has come in as temporary cover.

Tristan Dunkley who injured his shoulder at the end of the 3-1 win over Rugby Town in the 2nd Qualifying Round is fully fit and Mike Symons who suffered ankle damage at Gainsborough Trinity three weeks ago was involved again at training last night and should be available for the game. The rest of the squad are fully fit.

Greenwich Borough arrive at Aggborough on the back of eleven straight wins, with eight of the victories coming in Cup matches, five of which have been in the FA Cup starting back on 16th August in the preliminary rounds when they beat Lancing 2-1.

They then defeated St Francis Rangers 5-2, with Lewis Wood scoring all five goals! This secured a place in the First Qualifying Round & by then they were the only side left in the Cup from The South East Counties League when they faced Chessington & Hook United at Princes Park. The result was a 1-0 win with Paul Vines scoring the only goal.

Whilst City were starting out against Rugby Town in the 2nd Qualifying Round, Greenwich were now playing their fourth game, this time away against Beaconsfield SYCOB. Greenwich Manager Ian Jenkins, discharged himself from hospital on the morning of the game after undergoing an operation the day before to watch his club book their place in the Third Qualifying Round for the first time since 1993 after a 3-1 win.

Redhill were next which they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Billy Bennet making Club History to take then into the Fourth Qualifying Round.

Their Cup exploits mean that they have played just seven league games so far gaining 14 points and have six games in hand of the league leaders Erith & Belvedere.

Greenwich Borough, whose most famous former player is Ian Wright (who moved to Crystal Palace before going on to Arsenal), currently ground share at Princes Park the Home of Dartford FC & should Sundays game end in a draw, the replay will be on Tuesday with a 7.45pm kick off.

Meanwhile for City, Connor Gudger has gone out on loan for a month to Barwell to get game experience.
