City win 1-0 at Bradford Park Avenue

City ended the 2014/15 Season away travels with a 1-0 win at The Horsfall Stadium, thanks to a first half goal from Jay Denny.

The win guarantees City 9th place in The Vanarama Conference North with an opportunity of claiming 8th place in the final game of the season at Aggborough next Saturday.

On a bobbly pitch it wasn't a classic by any stretch of the imagination, not helped by the wind, but it was City who kept the ball better of the two teams throughout the game.

The only goal of the game came in the 27th minute. A whipped in free kick from the left flank found Anthony Charles who shot appeared to be handled in the box, but it made no difference as Jay Denny reacted first to strike a left footed shot past John Danby.

The second half was much the same with City making the best of the conditions and it wasn't until injury time that Park Avenue threatened the City goal with Jose Viega on hand to make two saves in goal mouth scrambles.

The win sets up the possibility of finishing 8th when Colwyn Bay are the visitors to Aggborough for the final game of the season, knowing they have to win to stand a chance of staying up. With the other team with a chance of going down being Brackley Town who face Hednesford Town (who sit in 8th place), it leaves plenty to play for in the season finale.
