City progress to the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round

Worcester City overcame a rejuvenated AFC Telford United side to book themselves a home tie against Brackley Town in the 3rd qualifying round.

The Bucks took the lead through Dave Hibbert in the 30th minute and went in at the break with the lead.

The game turned on a second yellow card for Telford midfielder Jonathan Royle. He saw red in the 54th minute and City grew in confidence.

The equaliser came 10 minutes later as Cieron Keane crossed from the right and it deflected over the keeper and in.

Relentless pressure from City followed and they took the lead in the 85th minute through Chekaine Steele, who had the freedom of Telford in the penalty area. He took his time and smashed the ball in to the roof of the net.

The tie was then put to bed in stoppage time as City counter-attacked. Jordan Murphy picked up the ball on the left-hand side and looped an inch perfect cross to Lee Hughes who wasn't going to miss from 6 yards out.
