City fall to defeat against local rivals

Luke Hopper scores a hat-trick for the visitors, capitalising on a poor defensive showing in the second half.

The first half was a poor showing. Neither side managed to hold possession and make it count.

The second half was instantly brought to life with Luke Hopper of Gloucester City pouncing on a misplaced back pass by debutant, Sam Oji.

Ten minutes later, there was another error at the back and Hopper was on hand to slot past Draper in the City goal.

Carl Heeley rang the changes, making 3 subs in quick succession. Batchelor, Nelson-Addy and Craig were all replaced and Hughes, Murphy and Steele were all thrown in to the affair.
The substitutions brought City to life and The Blue And Whites started zipping the ball about much more confidently.

City pulled a goal back in the 80th minute through Lee Hughes.

The comeback was put to bed only 3 minutes later by Hopper, who completed his hat-trick. He latched on to a through ball and slid the ball past Draper.

City threw everything at Gloucester and managed to pull a goal back, through Colby Bishop, deep in extra time, but it was too late.

Gloucester held on for victory and City fell to their third defeat in 7 days.
