Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner will become Worcester City Football Club’s joint managers for next season

As has been reported in the media, the Board of Directors can formally confirm that Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner will become Worcester City Football Club’s joint managers for next season.

The move, which was suggested to the Board by Carl, will allow them to share responsibility for the first team on an equal basis. Carl and Matt have worked together for a number of years and the move will allow them to deal effectively with the ever increasing demands of managing a football club at Vanarama National League North level.

The Board recognises that whilst the Football Club operates on a part-time basis, the demands on the management team are anything but part-time. It is therefore delighted to support this move which it believes will further strengthen the management team whilst still allowing Carl and Matt to accommodate their business commitments outside football.

As part of this re-organisation, John Snape will also stay on as First Team Coach, a role he took up in July 2013.

The success the Football Club experienced last season is a testament to the way in which Carl and Matt and the whole of the backroom staff work together as an effective team. The Board believes that this move will continue what is an extremely positive partnership and further demonstrates Carl’s and Matt’s commitment to the Football Club.
