Full-Back Moves On

Sam Minihan has decided to move on from Worcester City FC and not accept the offer made to him by the club for the 2016-17 season.

Minihan who has now graduated from Loughborough University is moving back home to Rochdale and this is a major reason for his decision.

Manager Carl Heeley said "There has been an offer on the table for Sam since the end of the campaign and I had agreed a level of flexibility with him to try and mitigate the logistical challenges.

"Although he really wanted to stay it was not practical to do so and he has advised me that he is going to accept an offer from a club nearer to his north-west base.

"On behalf of the club I would like to thank Sam and wish him the best of luck in his future career.

"Additionally, there are a number of potential new recruits that offers have been made to and we are currently awaiting their decisions"

Speaking on his departure, Minihan said "I'd like to thank everyone at Worcester City Football Club, especially the fans, John Snape and Carl for everything they've done for me.

"I've loved my time at Worcester, but due to various circumstances including the travelling, I have decided my future lies elsewhere.

"I would like to wish everyone at Worcester all the best in the future and thanks again."
