Worcester City can announce the arrival of central defender Clayton McDonald on a one year deal

26 year old McDonald was a product of the Manchester City academy from where he graduated in 2008 and can name Walsall, Port Vale and Grimsby Town as former clubs alongside loan spells at both Macclesfield and Chesterfield.

At 6’6” he will bring a huge presence to the squad which it is thought was required since the departure of Wayne Thomas.

Joint Manager Carl Heeley said “we have been working on a deal to bring Clayton to the football club for a number of weeks and finally we are delighted that we have been able to bring it to a conclusion with him signing a one year deal. We believe that Clayton has the attributes that we are looking for and also the personal hunger and desire to get back playing football regularly and be successful. At 26 he has a number of years experience in the football league but also with his best footballing years ahead of him”

We would like to extend a warm welcome to the football club and wish him every success.
