Worcester City Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of experienced striker Lee Hughes.

After the disappointing start to the new season, management duo Carl Heeley and Matt Gardiner have highlighted the areas that they feel need strengthening over the coming weeks and have put a plan together to correct them.

We are pleased to announce the signing of vastly experienced striker Lee Hughes from Ilkeston FC, 39 years old Hughes who has played well over 600 games at the top level and is nearing 300 career goals comes with an incredibly impressive pedigree.

Joint Manager Carl Heeley Said “Lee has been on our radar for the past 6 months and we feel that it is blatantly obvious to all regular watchers of Worcester City that a main problem area is our threat up front. Younger players with potential are an important part of our squad but they will require experienced players around them to help them develop. Lee might be 39 but he is in unbelievable shape and loves playing the game, he is also a very bubbly character who will give everyone a huge lift within the changing room”

Welcome to Worcester City FC Lee and we wish you every success in your time with us.
