Left footed central defender Alex Gudger has become the third summer signing to join the club after deciding to end his 3 year spell with Rugby Town.

The 22 year old Gudger has captained Rugby Town and twice played and impressed against City in the last two seasons FA cup ties.

Joint Manager Carl Heeley Said “Alex is a player that we have monitored very closely over the past three or four years and we feel he has always demonstrated the ability to play at a higher level and we are delighted to now give him the opportunity to do so. He is strong in the air and comfortable with the ball at his feet and being left footed that always brings a nice balance to a central defensive partnership, we feel that Alex has a lot of improvement still to come in his game and the setup at the club will maximise that potential”

We would like to welcome Alex to the club and wish him every success.

Discussions are on going with a number of other potential recruits and we are hopeful of announcing further additions in the coming days and weeks.
