The meeting was a useful opportunity to clear the air, and have a full and frank discussion.
The club’s Board confirmed their support for the club’s return to Worcester. The Board also confirmed their willingness to review the ownership structure of the club at the right time, including the option of community ownership. In the short to medium term, the Board are focussed on ensuring the continued financial stability of the club.
These assurances were welcomed by the Trust’s representatives. The Trust remains committed to the best possible outcomes for WCFC, and welcomed the proposal for continuing dialogue with the Board about the best way to secure the club’s future.
Club chairman, Anthony Hampson, said: “After a difficult few weeks this was a really positive discussion. We have been able to clear the air and confirm that we all want what is best for WCFC. We absolutely want the Trust to be part of securing that future.”
Trust chairman, Dave Wood, said: “We all need to work together for the success of WCFC, and we will continue to engage with the Board and do what we can to support Carl and the team. We will be consulting the trust membership to keep them informed on the progress of these talks.”
