Club awarded FA Charter Standard Development Status

As announced at the recent Fans Forum the Worcester City FC youth programme continues to thrive and we have now been awarded FA Charter Standard Development Club status.

Our Junior City Teams from under 11s through to under 18s all play in the NERF Junior Premier League.

The City in the Community scheme which runs with the help of a grant from the Conference Football Trust sees Coaches going into local schools.

Next Season, the first Worcester City Girls Football Team will be playing in a local league.

The next step on the FA Charter Standard ladder is Full Community Club status which all at the Club are working hard towards.

Youth development Director Mark Wilcox said: "There's been an awful lot of hard work but I am chuffed to bits. From the work we have done we have gone straight in at development standard level and very soon we will get the Community Status through linking with the various schools.

"Now we haven't got a home ground in the city, having that presence around is vital to keeping the profile of Worcester City up.

"All of the managers and coaches have become licensed coach members which means they have got up to date qualifications.

This Season has seen the under 11s win their league and reach a cup final later this month, while the under 13s, who are on course to finish runners-up in the league, are also in the cup final for their age group, taking place at Cheltenham Town FC next week.

The Youth Team reached the Second Round of The FA Youth Cup, the furthest any City team had reached in the Club's History.

Trials for next season are also taking place on the 3G pitch at the University of Worcester's St John's campus later this month, click here for details
