The Champions Return to Worcester this Tuesday evening for the first time since being crowned Hellenic League Premier Winners 2023/24, in front of another packed-out Sixways crowd.

Following last Thursday's postponement of the Hereford Lads Club fixture, this will be the first opportunity for the majority of The Faithful to see the side that have created so many lasting memories and broken numerous records along the way this season, including the current run of thirteen consecutive league wins, breaking the previous record of twelve last Tuesday with the Thornbury Town victory.

City fans were unequivocal in their support for Chris Cornes' side after the heartbreak of losing out in the penalty shoot-out at Great Wakering Rovers on Saturday afternoon, and the team will no doubt be looking to put the first defeat of this calendar year behind them with a positive display against their local rivals.

It has been almost six weeks since Worcester Raiders' last fixture, following the second postponement of this match in early March. Many of Raiders' players have been dual-registered with other clubs and it will be interesting to see how their side knits back together following such a long lay-off.

Raiders currently occupy tenth place in the Hellenic League Premier with this solitary game to play, and could finish in ninth place with three points, which would see them overtake Hereford Pegasus. A point will secure a tenth place finish, but they could only possibly drop one place with a loss however, with Pershore Town three points behind but with a much better goal difference, with their last game coming next week, that one against City.

City had an almost fully-fit squad available on Saturday. Liam Lockett was deemed fit enough only for the bench however and didn't make the field of play at all, whilst Calvin Dinsley got ninety minutes under his belt as he continued his recovery from short-term injury.

Dylan Hart continued as City's number 9 on Saturday and scored the goal that put the side back ahead at the time, at 2-1 on aggregate. Elliott Hartley and Izak Reid continued as City's wide men on a frustrating afternoon.

One thing is guaranteed ahead of Tuesday's Worcester Derby, and that is an excellent reception for the new Hellenic League Premier Champions, and Worcester City's first league title winners in 45 years.

This match will take place at Sixways Stadium with Worcester City the Home side, and Worcester Raiders the Away side. Tickets and car parking passes are available here.
